French producer WAR brings his INVISIBLE EP from a far flung future for the 2nd part of the MethLab collective's cold-toned BNKR series - following up the label's first sure footsteps of Allied's 'Obscurity' EP, which gathered wide praise from Mixmag, DjMag and UKF to name a few. The label's aesthetic of stripped down futurefunk with clear techno influences is once again clear, with War bringing his minimal yet powerful and driving sound to the table through 3 distinctive DnB tracks full of unique character, backed with a stunning remix of title track 'Invisible' from towering artist Djrum (Ninja Tune, 2nd Drop, Ilian Tape).
INVISIBLE opens the EP with a mournful quarterstep autonomic feel - delicately shifting percussion with a subtly evolving accent riding on a towering wall of bass. SNOW BLIND brings grit with a solid break that becomes progressively more tribal carving a path for the powerful undulating pulse of its bass weaponry. THE HUNDRED LIGHTS touches down softly with precisely organized morphic percussion symbiotically integrated with huge sub pressure, with a post-rave aesthetic coming through syncopated stabs both playful and mournful. For his remix of Invisible, DJRUM reimagines War's bleached dystopian landscape through more nostalgic ears, with 8 minutes of shimmering beauty and evolving broken Techno - with every moment of audio expressing a deeper narrative.

By Mary Turner With Djs seemingly everywhere, how do you differentiate between the newbie and the serious mixer? Friday night an event takes place at The Apartment, that will blow your mind. Apartment's resident Dj, Phaedon, member of Comunica Records, alongside Dancing In's ,ArisVon and Hobby T. , will create a dynamic team , that will ensure the clubbers's full entertainment! Warming-up the decks, Konye G, has the job of turning Apartment's basement into a party zone, before Phaedon takes over the booth. In charge of the main set, Phaedon, whose setlist varies from hard techno to tech house, promises an unforgettable night for the techno warriors who want to get in the mood for Saturday's (next day) big event! ArisVon, resident Dj of Dancing In, who currently lives in England, has formed his own unique style that also represents Dancing In itself. Basslines and claps will dominate his set, whereas the melodies will lift off everyone who attends the party! As Aris has promised, he will play new tracks and introduce new techniques on his set, having some “secret weapons” up his sleeve! Alongside with ArisVon, Hobby T. will present a very special closing set, introducing hard basslines throughout his entire set, something he has never done before! He promises to keep the whole club up to their feet, dancing 'till the very end of the party! With the venue's undoubtable party vibe, in combination with the Djs enchanting sets, the night is sure to be… magnificent! Event on FacebookBy Mary Turner Trying to describe last Saturday in simple words, I'd say this : "Dema came, tore Steam down and left". It really was a loud party, in every sense. Starting the night, DKTD warmed the place up with some deep house and deep tech sounds, to prepare the grounds for Tech1ne. The last 30 or so minutes of his set, featured some of the night's most explosive moments, leaving the sweaty dance floor ready for the night's headliner, Dema! Taking over the decks of Steam, Dema, instead of raising the intensity further, he reset the mood, leading all the clubbers along with his sounds. It was a truly rave-like experience, as he kept the energy high until the first morning hours. Just when Sunday's morning fatigue started to creep in, Mikee's set followed, to ensure that the event would remain unforgettable! The night was unexpectedly magical for everyone, even Dema, who said that he hopes to be invited again soon! In a few hours, in Athens we are expecting a special show, Deep Phase invites for first time in Greece Dema at Steam, a man who is considered one of the most exciting new talents in the techno music scene. The Italian talent gave us the chance for a small interview before his show! Read bellow | Event on Facebook
